July 4th

July 4th...... time to fire up the grill and celebrate our freedom! This year we opted to stay in town and celebrate with our friends the Bertones. There was plenty of finger licking ribs and chicken with all the fixins' and of course yummy desserts. For the big event we headed into a local small town for a down home fireworks spectacular. Thinking this was going to be a local good old boys fireworks display, we were pleasantly surprised. After all...... being that we have seen endless fireworks displays out at Disney we weren't expecting the kind of show this little town was putting on. With old American hymns being blasted out on loud speakers and the fireworks being set off over the lake it was a grand show!

Andrew and Luke enjoyed the blasts and bursts that you could feel in the pit of your stomach each time a firework went up. However Jack wasn't too thrilled with the whole thing and Steve had to give him some loving reassurance.

Oh, in case anyone is wondering ......we are Yanks fans when their not playing the Sox!!!
So how did you celebrate July 4th? Any family traditions?

Just like you. Enjoyed our new flowers, grilled ribs and watched fireworks from our bedroom as they were fired up the hill. Prissy was scared of the noise. We have had an inch of rain in 24 hours. Pancakes this morning and low country boil this evening. Life is fun!

You are looking fit, girl!! How do you get away with eating the yummy deserts? I ate a little bit of grilled chicken and a protein smoothie :(

We usually get together with friends or family. This year it was family. Hamburgers and apple pie were on our menu. But we decided not to go to our local fireworks display because a drizzling rain set in. Maybe next year!

What great pictures! The one of all your boys is especially adorable, and you and your husband look SO great.

We usually spend the 4th with friends who throw a huge party - lots of food, tons of fireworks, very family friendly (including full-scale water warfare & slip-n-slide). Since the husband & I went to Vegas this year, Grandma took the kids so they could still enjoy. Such a good time!

Oh, and... GO YANKEES!
